I am compelled to create with my hands.
Since childhood I have been creating visual objects – making art.
Making art is a meditation. It puts me “in the Zone” and all but the actual doing is blocked from thought. Time is lost and instinct takes over. Here memory, imagination and technique merge.

After earning Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees, I taught at a variety of colleges for several years before settling in as adjunct faculty at Tyler Junior College Art Department in 1987.
Along the journey of life I discovered that color & texture were of greatest importance to my being. I have explored all visual art media, beginning with drawing and now Fiber Art – weaving, dyeing, and surface design. The creation of combinations of colors and textures is an unending process bringing a strong visual and tactile joy. The majority of my products are one-of-a-kind.
These days I walk looking down…first, to find what objects are laying about, discarded, and second to keep an eye on where my feet go. Collecting discarded objects – putting together with woven fragments – creating Assemblages – is my latest exploration. Lines, shapes and colors arranged to be visually interesting or meaningful.
Exhibitions have been numerous, though in the past few years I limited myself to the Edom Art Fair, Edom Festival of the Arts, faculty exhibitions at TJC and Tyler Museum of Art and the Taos Wool Festival.
